Soo many different opinions - and yet people are only noticing the issue now that each state is going broke. Go figure. It seems that people just don’t know what to do. Should spending be cut? Should more people be let go? Hell, Alaska wants to build yet ANOTHER prison.
I have a better idea. Why not a prison reform - to make it actually a detourant (you know, the whole purpose of punishment) so people don’t WANT to go to prison. Get rid of the weights, only feed inmates one tiny meal a day, get rid of cable, and throw ‘em all in a hole. Sunlight and exercise is optional. If people want to beat each other up: embrace Darwanism.
But only for violent crimes, of course. I’m no hippy - but the last thing I want my tax dollars used for is to feed some pothead. Let him deal his own weed and feed himself.

I’ve noticed that I have been overly critical of families. It seems that there are so many different parenting skills - and its impossible to know which one is the best. Should parents try to be their children’s friends? Why would you allow all 50+ of your children run around at Wal-Mart to simply trash the place? Why would you raise your kids to be passive aggressive in an assertive world?
I even question the way I was raised — at what age should’ve my mom waited to have me? I think that… there will always be ideals. But we just all fall short. No matter what happens… I think the key ingrediant is that of love. And I don’t necessarily mean the mushy kinda love … the hard love… the tough love. Do you honestly love your children enough to tell the truth?
I was watching a short skit from Russell Peters (a great Comedian) - and he advocated the use of corporal punishment. He was mostly in jest … and I don’t think I agree with beating your kid frequently … but the point was dead on. If you raise your kid to be soft and nieve … he simply won’t make it. Instead: your kid should be strong, clever, and shrewd.

Well, I picked up some NVidia stock - in the hopes for something good in the next year or two. Got it @ $7.50 and I am hoping for the best.
If its one thing I learned about myself: its that I am not a day trader. The sprint stock I picked up @ $4.10 … is something I’ll be waiting on for quite some time. Assuming, that is, that they don’t go bankrupt.
I’ll be happy to sell either one for $12-$15. We’ll see.

I’d like to put one out there: I did not vote for Obama. I don’t agree with the democratic party. And I do think that Obama, at times, ranks up there on the douchebag scale.
Just today I’ve seen about 3 status updates about Obama’s choice for Robinson giving the inaugurational prayer. All of the status updates have been negative regarding the openly gay Episcopal bishop. And all these status updates reminds me of just about … the greatest thing that Christians have screwed up in our lifetime: the topic of homosexuality.
I don’t think its any Christian’s job to tell anyone how to live their life. I do not believe we live in a ‘Christian nation’. I firmly believe that if some gay couple wants to get married in some Unitarian church … let them. I do not believe the Constitution should be edited to completely exclude a minority’s rights.
It’s really easy for my family to point fingers at gay people - saying that its not a healthy atmosphere to raise a child. But look at my own upbringing: I was raised without a male role model due to a divorce. It’s really easy for a pastor to preach against homosexuality … but him being addicted to internet pornography with a lustful mind is no worse.
Me, staring at all the college girls on campus wearing next to nothing - is no different than someone struggling with homosexuality. I firmly believe that any lifestyle full of promiscuity and lust … can be very destructive - be it gay or straight.
I don’t believe people are “gay” or “straight”. I believe you’re somewhere in between, on a spectrum. I believe its something certain people are more inclined to do than others. Being tempted and having a weakness, is not a sin in itself. Even Jesus Christ himself was tempted.
One sexual theme I find interesting in the New Testament - is that the people Jesus choose, those who led a lifestyle full of multiple partners, prostitution, sexual deviancy … were far closer to God than those who were “religious”.
I am not trying to justify anything. I just think its hypocritical of Christians … to sit here and point fingers - when the Christian Church does not take care of the sick and needy anymore. I think its wrong of Christians to judge gays … when the Christians themselves have such high divorce rates and illegitimate children.
Do I believe that homosexuality should be encouraged in a Christian church? NO. Would I attend a Christian church that married a gay couple? Absolutely not. But I’m not gonna sit here - and be a self righteous asshole … when my OWN religion doesn’t have its act together.
My own spiritual journey started when I was maybe 12. And I really didn’t choose to follow Christ’s teachings until I was maybe ~17. During those 5 years of seeking, I made several prayers… and they were not always directed at the God of Christianity. But looking back on it, I believe that it pleased God that I was a seeker.
So, despite the fact that I don’t completely agree with Gene Robinson — I will be praying along with him to the God that I serve. Because even though that I don’t think he has it completely right, I didn’t always have it right either. I am going to pray for the country - and for our president (even though that I don’t like him… because lets face it, Jesus taught us to pray for those beyond our ‘friends’)
I will pray that he might make the right choices - and eliminate our budget deficit - that we might improve our trade deficit - and that we can create a stable prosperous economy for ourselves and our children. I pray for an administration of accountability - fiscally conservative spending, no more golden parachutes for rich CEO’s, and people taking responsibility for their actions.
I will pray for life - the declining rate of abortions, capital punishments, and for the end of us stockpiling weapons.
I will pray for the denuclearize of North Korea - for the persecution to stop - and the end to all nazi concentration camps. I pray for all human rights - for those who do not have the right to say what they want - and the end to all oppressive governments.
And lastly I pray for us all - that God may have mercy on our souls: Gene Robinsons struggle with lust, my struggles with being a pretentious jerk, and other peoples struggles with self righteousness.

I know 99% of bash.org is fake. But sometimes I can’t help but laugh… some of these quotes are as old as the interwebs.

I don’t usually write about food - even though I absolutely LOVE it. One of my guilty pleasures in life has to be those stupid chocolate mint Girl Scout cookies. I say stupid - because they’re so expensive… are so bad for you… yet taste so good. I was minding my own business at Trader Joe’s the other day when I was looking at the cookies. The lady behind the counter smiled at me - left her position at the register, tore open the box I picked out, and started to give free cookies out to everyone. I’ve never seen such excitement! But soon I was excited - as the cookies tasted better than anything else … (well almost anything else. My better half can make a pretty mean peanut butter cookie)
The point of all of this - is if you have never tried the “Dark Chocolate Covered Peppermint Joe Joes” … then you truly are missing out in life.

I have to admit. Rambo is one of my guilty pleasures. I grew up with the Rambo Trilogy as a child - and absolutely LOVED the new Rambo film. Probably one of the few Blu-Rays I actually rushed out to buy. But onwards to the review…
The game plays smoothly - and the gun feels normal in your hand. As the body count grows, Rambo gets “angry” filling up the Rage Meter. Once this meter is full you can activate it for a short period of invincibility, extra damage, and auto-reload.
The game is fun to play - and I was glad to see that it did not employ any civilians that could not be shot (as it would be a good copy of the films if so!) - but this leads me to my gripe: the game almost felt a little too simple. I kinda miss the missions and alternative ways to deal with enemies in Ghost Squad. It would also be nice to get a better variety of weapons between boss fights.
But on the plus side the game feels longer than Ghost Squad - and the cut scenes were well blended with the action. I could’ve done without the cheesy narration though!!
Perhaps the next Rambo light gun game will revolve around the recent Rambo film that was released earlier this year — now thats what I want to play.

I know I’m a little too late - but I figure better late than never. Its not too often that a movie exceeds expectations. I have to be honest, after watching the disappointing equal - Resident Evil: Apocalypse, I had low expectations for the last installment. Before I continue, I have to admit … I maybe slightly biased, I’ve been a fan of Milla Jovovich for quite awhile. Probably since 1994 when she released her album: The Divine Comedy. Excellent folk music. But I digress, the RE Extinction is an excellent movie.
While Nemesis was a walking disappointment of uselessness, the villain Tyrant in Extinction did a much better job of creating suspense. He definitely scored higher on the badass factor than his successor. And being a fan of Hitchcock’s “The Birds” - I felt that the zombie pigions played an excellent homage to one of my favorite films as a child.

I kinda grew out of the heavy metal scene in the 9th grade when Metallica got lame. Every now and then it DOES end up in my play list - but few and far between… and hardly ever Metallica. If I put in something harsh its usually Pantera. My roommate, knowing I’m a fan of Spawn, suggested an album to listen to. The group is called Iced Earth and the album name Dark Saga. Its an album devoted entirely to the Spawn series. Please, if you remember hating the life action movie from 1997 … do yourself a favor and check out the HBO animated series. It is much better.
